Have you ever lied about your child's age for a discount?

Ask:
We went to one of those all you eat resturants today, we brought Cameron. NOW he turned 3 in February, and is big/tall for his age. When the waitress asked how old he was, I wasn't sure what the cutoff age was, so I said 2. Dh was appalled with me and couldn't believe I did that. He didn't eat anything anyhow, a little bit of fruit, and some chicken, but I didn't want to pay even half price for him because I knew he wouldn't eat anything there.

PLEASE tell me I'm not the only horrible person on here that would do such a thing!!
Answer:

I haven't done it because dd is only 8 and is still eligible for some discounts. I probably couldn't get away with it anyway because dd looks her age.

Now, if you were trying to pass off a 5 year old as a 2 year old, I'd say you were really taking advantage of the system. However, since he was only a little over 2 and didn't eat much anyway, I wouldn't worry about fudging his age. Tons of people do this -- you're not the only one.
Answer:

Anytime I thought I could get away with it I did
Answer:

No we don't lie about ages #1 reason the kids would say no I am 3 or 6. Dh took the boys to the movies and the lady behind the desk asked Joshs age, dh said 3 and she said nah he looks 2 today. That was nice of her.
Answer:

Haven't had to yet because dd is only 13months. I guess if you are going to you need to make sure your child isn't going to object to being younger. I know my parents did it at the other end of the spectrum. The 11 year old is still 10 and the 13 year old is still 12. By then they are old enough to know why you are doing it.
Answer:

I worked at an amusement park after I graduated HS and one day a lady told me that she had a "free" age child. I think it was 3 and under (can't remember exactly) Anyway, the kid said, "But Mommy! I'm going to be 5 next week!" Busted!!
Answer:

I have never lied, but I have allowed someone to assume that my youngest is under a certain age....
Answer:

No I have not done this.It would probably come back and bite me.
Answer:

We've done it w/my dss saying he was younger like 12 when 13 and 14. Not w/yhe little ones yet tho.
Answer:

We have before. Not all the time. I dont think we ever saved more than .50-$1.00 before. But I too let them assume my kids are underage.
