Getting grays...I'm ONLY 35!!!

Ask:
I've been starting to get some grays for the past year. I blame it on a very stressful couple of years, but they are really starting to sprout now. Of course, my ever so blunt mother says the other day, "Wow, you're really starting to get gray hairs. I know I didn't have any at your age!" Thanks mom! Well, I'm starting back to college in July, and although I've never colored my hair before in my life, I'm thinking I will have to start. I'm already going to be the "old" person in the classes. I don't want to look like I'm older than I am! I'm really feeling depressed over the whole thing, because I've always looked way younger than I am. I'm 35 and I JUST started not being asked for my ID when I order a drink! Which I know is actually great that it took so long, but... You know what I mean.

So, I have a question for all of you. Should I go to a salon to get my hair colored? Or are there some really good at home kits that I can buy and do myself? The reason I've never colored it before is that, I really like my hair color. I've always loved it. Grr!!! Should I completely change the color? Should I keep it the same? Help! (It's medium brown, right now).
Answer:

I call gray the 2 kid syndrome, I now swear, am on medication and got grays (as does dh-but more than I) I'd try a cover gray color kit if you want to keep the same color. I have dark dark blonde hair and color it to be lighter and cover the gray. hth! Don't sweat it!!
Answer:

DH is 28 and he has a several grey hairs already, don't feel bad!
Answer:

Heck, I've been getting gray hairs since I was 25!!!!

I have had my hair colored at a salon, but it is easier and cheaper to buy a box of color at the grocery store and do it yourself, since you like your color the way it is, then just buy that color, start maybe with something simple to use like "nice & easy" brand. good luck!!
