tooth grinding

Ask:
ok so i need a question answered. DS is getting teeth now and he has 3 working on the 4th. he grinds his 1 top tooth against his little bottom teeth. ARGH anyone else's do this and does it stop!!!!!
Answer:

Nope, can't stop it.

The only cause I know of for night-time teeth grinding (that can be controlled) is to stop and severely limit sugary foods before bedtime. I know my granddaughter grinds her teeth more if she's had ice cream right before bed.
Answer:

nope ..not until there teeth are permanently in...then you can get a bite guard for night...they make a mold of your teeth to fit so they wont do it till teeth are done growing..but I did get my dd a guard and not mold it to it wont affect her teeth....my girls grind sooooooo redicously bad ...just like mommy....lol
Answer:

There is nothing you can do he will stop. It is just because it is new and he can do it. My dd did it and I am sure there are many more kids out there that have done it. I found the more I payed attention to it the more my dd did it.
Answer:

I was hoping it was just because they're new. Thanks for all the help!!! hopefully this won't go on once the new wears off.
