I don't know how many of you have heard about this. I did a paper on it for one of my Criminal Justice papers last year and to this day it haunts me. For some reason I believe I am being led to post about it here.
When I first heard about the "Choking Game" I was mortified, completely in shock over what kids these days are doing. It scares me to think that innocent kids, as young as 8 (!!!!) are doing this and dying from it. My heart is broken as I sit here reading about some of these kids.
The Choking Game has many aliases. :
- Blackout
- Flat liner
- Fainting Game
- California Choke
- Dream Game
- Airplaning
- Suffocation Roulette
- Space Cowboy
- Pass-out Game
There should be MORE awareness about this!!

Some girls from our high school were doing this stuff and video taped it, one girl put the video of her getting choked and passing out on her Myspace. Her mother found it and called the police. They got a very stern lecture from the school police officer. I don't know how teens or kids can think this stuff is fun??!!!

I have witnessed this behavior. And it is very frightening!!!! My step son did this a few years ago with some of his buddies. He passed out and fell forward and cut a very deep cut between his lower lip and chin. The night that this occured he was in the car of his mother's fiance as she was on her way home from out of town and we live 40 minutes away. he called after the incident to let his dad know about it but the fiance said it was okay and just nneded butterflied. It shoud have been stitched. He has a horrible scar there now. He got a very long lecture and was warned about the what could have happened and To htis day I don't think he ever did it again!
