Answer:

Electronics Engineer in a very specialized segment of the electronics industry. My husband is literally the only guy on the planet that knows as much as he does in this field. There may be a couple of dozen guys, total, who do the same type of work.

Unfortunately, this puts my husband in so much demand that he travels three weeks out of every four - and his employer would like him to travel fulltime. If he is in the United States, he is usually home on the weekends. When he is overseas he is gone for weeks at a time. For instance, he is leaving this week for an overseas biz trip and won't be home again until just before 4th of July - hopefully.

Is he a CEO or paid like one? No. Technically he gets part-time pay because he works part-time. Thankfully we get all the fulltime benefits (health insurance, etc).

That said, I do sympathize with the cut in income when you stopped working. It used to be that both hubby and I were fulltime, professionals. We earned so much money that I used to think about the salary that the President of the USA receives and say, "Hmmmm, that's not very much." However, our lifestyle was awful. When we moved to where we live now, I quit and my husband went parttime. Our lifestyle is so much better - on MUCH less income. It really isn't about how much money you make but what you do with it.

Answer:

My husband does have a high-profile corporate job but we do not have buckooos of money! We are pretty comfortable though. People have lots of different types of jobs on this board and there are lots of two income families. I'm NEVER going back to work!
Answer:

My husband is what is fondly referred to as a "warehouse rat." He works at a plumbing equipment company and he pulls orders and drives a forklift all day. He works long hours just so I can stay home with the kids. It is tight but we wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
