Ask:
I called the licensing board today and filed the complaint about what happened last week.
Surprisingly, actually, shockingly the inspector told me that he has seen this problem a lot lately and he has had to talk to several centers about this. He himself has made visits and witnessed this. He said he couldn't imagine being a parent and seeing what I saw.
What are people thinking????
Why would anyone think it is ok to put a blanket over a baby's head??
I am so so soooooo glad that I called a filed that complaint.
The inspector is going to take care of it, that I am sure. I just hope they learn their lesson and stop this practice.

Thank you all for your comments and support!!
Answer:
OMG. babies are not even supposed to have blankets more or less have them over their head. That is very scary.
Answer:
Good for you for reporting them! I take it your dd is NOT going back there! What are you going to do now?
Answer:
Good for you for reporting them. Do you have any responsible teenagers in your area? Maybe then you could still find a little time for "ME time" Good luck.
Answer:
No, she is NOT going back.
I am going to keep her home for the summer. And re-evaluate the situation when the big kids go back to school.
I will probably try to find a "home daycare" there weren't too many in my area...(this is a relatively new neighborhood)...and if that is what we decide we have one more question to add to our list.
I am going to think about this for a few months though and see what will be best.
Thanks!!
Answer:
I'm so happy you reported them. Even if your dd isn't returning, you're helping out another family who doesn't even know this is going on!!

They are now adding babysitting to their list of things to do for the summer..
They are thrilled!!
Actually, my dd loves babysitting!! And it is not too often that I "go out".
Answer:
I am glad you took the time to report it. You would think they would know not to put a blanket over a child's head while they are sleeping....or anytime.
Answer:
They know better than to do that and I am glad you report this. I would not do that to my son bec I know it is not safe for his breath being block or something.
Answer:
Good for you! I'm so sorry this happened to your child
There are quality providers out there (I have actually worked in one) but it's such a leap of faith to put your child in the care of people you can only hope will give quality care.
Good luck
