I just posted on another area about things cut from budget that you don't miss. I recently cut call waiting (and saved $4.50 a month) mostly because I wasn't even answering it because it was almost always my MIL.
I get along with MIL just fine, she's a really nice lady and she does a lot for us and is good to our kids, BUT she calls us ALL THE TIME. I feel bad for her because my FIL is not a conversationalist by any means and I know she gets bored. My DH gets more frustrated with her than I do and even tells her to stop calling. She'll call and ask for me .
Mostly she calls to ask a question like did I water my flowers or remember to take the kids library books back or something like that.
Anyone else have a MIL like mine?

Nope, mine doesn't call at ALL. She is on the computer so she IM's me all the time though. My dh will call her every couple of weeks...and she usually doesn't even ask to talk to me cause she knows she can talk to me on the computer.

If we didn't call her she would call at least once a week. When my fil was living he called pretty much EVERY day At the time we complained but now we miss it.

No, never. Actually she never calls, if my dh didn't call her every now and then we would never hear from her.

My MIL calls every Sunday at 7:00 p.m. She has 4 boys that live out of town and has a schedule when good times to call. Our time is Sunday.

This is how it is for us too. We only live 7 miles from them and we can go months without seeing them or hearing from them.

My MIL use to call all the time but wouldn't talk to me at all. If I answered the phone I would get an OH is Ian there.... no hi Dawn nothing. WE Dh and I had issues with this since it was to talk about the weather see what we were having for dinner...to see how dh's day was at work. ETC the thing was she would call right at 510 when dh was getting int he door and I was trying to make dinner. EVERY DAY so we had to have a talk with her about proper times to call. Like not dinnertime.. or bed time for dd. She would always call knowing that we put her to bed the same time every night. So being my MIL and the way she is cried about it forever and that her son didn't love her anymore..blah blah blah.... now she doesn't call but twice a month thinking my Dh will call her but since he doesn't now she is crying to everyone that he has abandoned his family.
