I took half away and it's all still there

Ask:
Last night I had to borrow a truck to load up all my stuff for our local consignment sale this week. I had so much stuff I couldn't fit it all in my car. I was so excited, thinking- wow, with all this stuff gone I'll really see a difference. But you know- I can hardly tell anything is missing! Ugh. It's like eating Grape Nuts. You eat half a bowl but you still have a whole bowl full somehow. Must keep purging...
Answer:

I totally agree. We got rid of a lot in June - a whole garage full. I am having to go through the kids' clothes, toys, etc. all over again and weed out. I'm filling my garage up once again! I guess we'll be having a fall garage sale too.
Answer:

You hit 300! Yeah!
I know what you mean! When we moved in I plowed through getting rid of more than half and we still more needs to go!
Answer:

I know exactly how you feel! I did that in the summer and the closets and dresser drawers look the same. UGH!
Answer:

I so feel ya! We cleaned out our garage/storage Sunday. Our curb is lined with trash (neighbors are loving us) and the back of the truck was packed full of stuff to go to Goodwill. I ended up emptying 8 storage bins...woo-hoooo! On to the next room...
Answer:

The other night at 10 pm while DH and I were watching tv I talked him into cleaning out and organizing the garage. It took a few hours and probably wasn't the best project to tackle at that hour, but our garage looks so good. It's amazing how fast stuff accumulates in our garage!
Answer:

The garage is our trouble spot too. Every couple of months we have to tackle it so we can fit our cars in there. I have done a pretty good job keeping a handle on the boys' clothes since we moved into this house. I don't buy as much as I used to and they seem to wear everything they have. I have not bought anything for the baby except pajamas and he is drowning in hand me downs. When we moved I sorted them all in bins according to size and they are stacked in the attic, ready to go. That is one good thing about moving. It gives you a chance to get a grip on all the stuff and start fresh and organized.

jnbythesea - I love your grape nuts analogy. I know exactly what you mean!
Answer:

I feel you all. We moved into our new place the end of April and I sorted through everything before it came into the house. I thought that I got rid of a ton of stuff but I guess not cuz I am seeing signs that I need to start purging-again! Its just a never ending cycle!
