Just out of curiosity

Ask:
As a preschool teacher I had to take several courses each year on instruction, courses on art lessons, music and movement, etc in order to manage my classroom. Are these same kinds of seminars available to homeschooling families? I found these weekend seminars so informative and so fun! It really helped to jump start me and give me some new ideas to implement in the classroom.
Answer:

Our local community college has classes and seminars like this. Our Recenter has tons of seminars on different topics not just early childhood education. I'm not sure if anywhere else does, but those are the two I've seen.
Answer:

Our local community college has them also, I've seen some advertised even at churches, libraries and hospitals too.
They've always been open to anyone as far as I could tell.

Answer:

This is good to know. Thanks
Answer:

Well, I haven't seen any type of teacher's continuing education advertised as being open to the public around here, but I haven't been looking for it, either. Our rec dept offers lots of classes to kids and parents, and there are some learning centers like Creative Spark that have classes just for homeschooled kids.

As far as I know, Sc doesn't require any type of continuing education for Hsing parents. It wouldn't be a bad idea, IMO. I would go! But I don't think this state quite knows what to do with schools of any kind, let alone HS!
Answer:

Christy, there is actually a group here in Oklahoma that puts on a BIG thing every year, in the Spring, I think. Here's the link if you want to check it out.
