Ask:
I’m brand new to home schooling and currently teaching my daughter pre-K. We are both enjoing it a lot and decided to go with it.
I’m looking for a complete, accredited curriculum and have been looking at ABeka and Alpha Omega. Is anybody using one of them? Can you please give me your feedback? Good or bad! Anybody knows about other complete and accredited curriculum?
It’s hard to choose one and I would love your input.
Thank you very much!
Answer:
I use Sonlight, we love it. We also use a little of everything thrown in too, like I mix in unit studies and lots of art and drama. We have Five in a Row, going to use that too.
For pre-k and K you can go to they have alot of free curriculums and activites to do mixed in with your curriculum.
Answer:
We used Abeka last year for pre-k or 'k-4' as they call it. It's good. We are using it again for Kindergarden 'k-5' and I like most of it. Not really impressed with the math\numbers portion, but the other stuff is great. You may also want to check Veritas press, I just love their stuff. We are about to begin the Phonics Museum.
Answer:
We are beginning week 2 of My Father's World and so far we're loving it. Each week is a unit study mixed with a letter of the week. The thing I really love is they tie a Bible lesson right into, so I don't even have to supplement that. For example, this week is the letter "s," we are studing the sun, and learning that Jesus (also a son) is the light to the world.
