Into the kitchen

Ask:
About a year ago I moved a small table and chairs set into my kitchen. We spend so much time in there eating, food prep, cleaning, etc. Anyway, I immediately noticed that anything on the fridge intensely interested the kids, since they were sitting right there. That got me thinking... I put up a bulletin board right above their table, and now that and the fridge are where I put up all their artwork, the letter of the week, our weekly song, poem, etc. They are much more interested in those things as a result- they look at the pictures while they eat, talk about them, ask me to read the poems, even sing the songs. I'd say it has helped their learning 100%. I guess presentation really is everything.

I agree!! We hand our art work in the kitchen too on one wall! I need more bulletin boards for some I want to make, like Artist of the Month with the major paintings of each one.

What a great way to use that space! I have found the refrigerator to be a great place to hang their weekly Bible verse. Makes us all remember to review it as we are eating breakfast since it is right there in front of us.
