Finally got a hold of "Five in a Row"

Ask:
I didn't want to buy the set without at least being able to look at it, you know? Through our interlibrary loan system I was able to get the three volume set for 6 weeks. I have to say I am really liking what I see so far! It is a complete curriculum in itself- would be great for older preschool/kindergarten. Lots of great ideas based on the core books- and you can pretty much do everything with stuff you would have at home or could get at the library.
Answer:

I'm so glad your lib had it! Mine doesn't Let me know if you think it's worth paying for!
Answer:

My library actually did *not* have it. I had to request it through the interlibrary loan system, which is a wonderful thing. You fill out a request form, and the library system you are in will search other library systems to find a copy for you. My library will search up to five other systems throughout our state. I have gotten several books this way that I would otherwise have not had access to- plus I can make the request on line, and my library will call me when they locate a copy for me to pick up. Your local reference desk should also be able to help you do this.

I think it looks really good... I am definitely going to get a copy of at least the first volume. I was very impressed with the coordinating activities in all fields... math, social studies, etc. Plus, there are a lot of activities listed for each book, and you can pick out the ones that you think will be most helpful for your child (so you are not doing every possible activity each week). At the back of the book there are sample weekly schedules. If you are really going to use it, it's probably even worth paying (gasp) full price.

How is the egg situation coming??
Answer:

Jen,
Who us? Pay full price? NEVER! lol, I might use ebay!

Egg situation: Not going well. I don't really know what to do. Nothing works as far as punishment, I thought he had learned the first time. He thinks it is so funny, oh how the evil mom in me wanted to slap that smirk of his adorable little face!!!
I made him clean it up, tell humpty dumpty and the easter bunny he was sorry for ruining their eggs (don't ask), spanked him, put him in time-out, took his favorite toy trucks away, and he still thinks it is funny.."look daddy I made orange carpet, yippee" UUGGHH
Answer:

Stacia-

I looked at my FIAR copy tonight- this copy came from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. So you definitely ought to be able to get a copy to look at.

Oh, that bad boy. We have a saying at our house: "He was very naughty, and he's not even sorry!"

It's the age, I think. Have you tried Spot Shot? That stuff works on just about anything.
Answer:

We buy the huge pack at costco of spot shot, end up getting a case every month! This is the first time it didn't work!!
Answer:

Oh, dear- Spot Shot failed? It must be really bad. You can always do a "carpet patch"- use an exacto knife to cut out the stain and hot glue a patch in place. My parents had to do this when my nephews got Easter egg dye on their carpet. They paid to have it done, but watching the guy do it- heck, it seemed like anyone could have done it. The patch was hardly noticeable.
Answer:

I bought it I bought it finally got it! Won on ebay for $10.50
