Men in Trees

Ask:
Anyone watch the premiere. I had my doubts, but this one looks like it is going to be cute.
Answer:

I saw parts of it last night and thought it was pretty cute. But then the clothes started coming off (lol--characters on the show; not us!). DH and I have been trying to watch stuff that's on the cleaner side (want to be good example to ds) and so we'll maybe give this show one more shot. Hopefully it's mostly clean so we can watch it!
Answer:

I quoted Bsteen: I don't think that will happen. A friday night show trying to get ratings for the new season. She is an author about relationships and she just broke up with her fiance. She moved to Elmo, Alaska where there are a ton of men compared to women so she can research and write her next book on MEN.

It was cute, I'll give it a shot if nothing else is on and I'm still awake.
Answer:

Oh well. I didn't catch the whole premise of the show. I was doing stuff and watching. Chaulk it up to one more show we don't watch. We probably watch too much tv anyway.
Answer:

House is pretty clean. I mean there's not sex all throughout it. And it's very well written. And Lost is phenomenal too. Only a couple of steamy scenes within the past two seasons, and those were fast-forwardable with DVR or on DVD.

'House' is a great show, but there's some sex in it. Last year Cameron and Chase (I think that's the British guys name) did some horizontal exercising. Also, there was a story where a guy snuck through a window to have sex with his girlfriend. Turns out there was a tick on his clothes and it got stuck up her hoo ha. To each his own, but 'House' is not a show I'm ready to let my dd watch.

Back to 'Men in Trees' -- I watched the 1st episode (missed the 2nd one). It was OK. Kind of reminds me of 'Northern Exposure'. They're going to have to develop some of the other characters or the premise of her being in Alaska to research men for a book is going to get old really quick.
Answer:

It did remind me of "Northern Exposure" I loved that show and all their quirky charcters! This one seems a bit cheesier though. I will watch as there is nothing else on Friday nights.

As for good family shows we like the old silly Americas Funniest Videos I watched the ABC Fall preview and that show is in its 17th year and I think 3rd host.

Answer:

I really liked this show! They showed the Season Premiere plus a new episode on Friday night, and I actually stayed awake to watch it! I've never seen Anne Heche in anything besides movies, and I really like her in this show. Plus, that one guy is really good looking...that doesn't hurt!
Answer:

I watched the first episode and found it mildly amusing. I'll probably watch another time or two since there's not much else on Friday nights, then decide if it's a keeper or not.

But on an aside....OMG!!! Did anyone see David Letterman interviewing Anne Heche the night before the first episode. I was embarrassed for him. ALL...and I do mean all...he wanted to talk about was her being a previous lesbian. He put a bunch of lesbian jokes about her in his introductory comments, then when he was interviewing her he just went on & on. (For those that don't know....she was "straight" with Steve Martin, then dumped him for Ellen Degeneres and became half of the most famous lesbian couple around, then when they broke up, she married a guy and is now a mom). I bet Dave used the word lesbian 50 times!!! He would not drop it even when she kept trying to get him to. I just couldn't believe it when I was watching it.
Answer:

I missed seeing Anne on David Letterman, but I'm not surprised about how he acted. Sometimes these late-night guys (Jay Leno included) can go a little overboard with their comments. I'm surprised when people they've roasted in the past agree to be guests on their shows.

David had Janet Jackson on his show after her infamous "Wardrobe Malfunction" and he just went on and on about it. I admire her for sitting through the entire interview; I probably would have walked off half way through.

When someone has a guest in their home, they try to make that guest feel comfortable. You would think these late-night guys would try to make their guests feel comfortable instead of grilling them. These poor people aren't on trial.
