This is, I think, my favorite season! This weekend we found an orchard near our new home that has all kinds of berries, pears, and apples. We picked 40 pounds of apples, 20 pounds of pears, and about 4 cups of blackberries. I have grand thoughts of apples pies this winter, pear sauce and pear jelly, and a blackberry pie or maybe 2 depending on which recipe I make. So, my question is....what do you do with your apples and pears?
I make pie filling and freeze and applesauce that I can. This is the first year that I've picked pears, so I'm waiting for some interesting pear recipes....how about you??

Oh, how fun! It was in the 50's here yesterday and still is this morning. Fall has always been my favorite time of year.
I think I'll have to do some checking on orchards around here.

ooooooooo!!! Freezing the pie filling great idea. Is it cooked? I love fall too. I like to make individual apple crisps that go along with dinner it makes for a great homey smell when dh comes home from work too. Apple butter I want to try. LOve to make apple pie. Fried apple pies too. Apple fritters I think I want to try too. Last year I picked too many and didn't have room. I need a freezer. So we will go twice this year.
