Why don't they just stick to their gift/talent instead of all the extras? I'm so tired of having to shield my children from the radio and from the TV. I don't want to have to explain to them all the time that this behavior is wrong. I am certianly SICK of stories like this too:

Beyonce is one that really bugs me. She is obviously sssoooo talented - singing, writing, dancing, being beautiful - yet she still finds the need to act like a hoochy-mama. Unfortunately, that's how our young women these days are being taught that regardless of how smart, talented, whatever you are, you won't amount to anything unless you act like a total whore as well. They just don't get that being SEXY has nothing to do with acting SLUTY.

We are SO picky about what our kids watch...and it is ridiculous to have to "screen" regular TV. Not only for my kids, though...their MOM is also uncomfortable watching stuff like that. Call me a prude, but I just don't see where we need to see sex or skin or even hear the cursing that is now the "norm" on regular tv. If you want it, rent a movie or watch one of the premium channels.

This made me question who are favorite female artists are and how many of them don't have to strip to be considered talented.
The only one I could think of was Alicia Keys! She is so talented and hasn't yet, sold herself out!

blessed with 6 - I sooo agree with you. Didn't 7pm Central time used to be the Family Hour on TV?? Now every show is full of sex scenes, sex comments and horrible language. Most of the shows would still be funny/good if they left a lot of that out. Save the dirty talk for later in the evening. I don't mind if the 9 pm shows are like that because my child should be in bed then. I too am embarrassed just to listen/watch crap like that so much, much less do it in front of my kids! We need to fight back as parents for decent television!

I honestly can't stand watching POP or RAP videos anymore! All I ever see are girls that are alomost naked! Why don't guys feel like they need to take off their clothes? I can tell you, becuase if they have a partially naked chick in their video is good for them!

I read a great book called Confessions of a Video Vixen. It's a real eye opener regarding the music industry especially rap. It makes me really think what are society is teaching our girls how to act and what it's teaching boys to expect.
