Baby Dropping

Ask:
I was wondering when does the baby drop typically, or when did it occur for you? How long after the baby drops until labor begins?

I am due in a month and some ladies at work told me it looked like it was dropping. I have felt a little more pressure and my hips are a little more sore today.
Answer:

I know that my ds took forver to drop ..it was maybe 3-4 days before I delivered. My dd however dropped really early...she was head down for the last 4 months. Then when she dropped like a month before I delivered her, the pressure in my crotch was insane!
Answer:

It is said that only first babies drop...cause after that, there is already enough stretching that they don't have to "fall". I don't know about that...since one of my last ones did a sudden lowering..and about killed me the last few days of the pregnancy!! LOL

Hi Katie,

It is Carolyn. I hear the last few weeks. I am not sure if I have dropped much or not, but I am getting really uncomfortable. Not able to sleep much at all.

How have you been? I am doing well expect for the uncomfortable part, which is par for the course.

Take care,

Carolyn
Answer:

I don't think mine is dropping yet. Yesterday was a turning point for me. I had been feeling great and wasn't sore at all. Yesterday I just couldn't get comfortable and my hips were mad! This morning I feel stiff, and I know I am walking differently. Sleeping is still happening for me, it just takes a little longer for me to get comfortable.
I have a baby shower in a week, so I have to go find something to wear today I hate clothes!
Answer:

neither of my first two ever dropped they were breach and stuck. this one has been head down and low(don't think it can go lower) for 2 months i think every person is different. i have been feeling alot of pressure and pinched nerves in the upper part of my thighs at times when i walk. i'm sure you will know when you drop totally cause man you can feel a difference.
Answer:

It's really different for each woman and each baby. My first dropped at about 25 weeks. I had to be on bed rest. My second didn't drop, which was a problem. My water broke at 6:15am, but no labor began. Finally, about 5pm, they induced. Baby slowly made her way down. Thank God, no csection needed, but she didn't appear into our world until 11:23. Only six hours of labor isn't much to complain about, though!:D
