Ask:
If you are a new mom or if you have not tried it yet, you NEED to make your own wipes. I read where some moms said they cut cheapos in half and I don't know how they do it. I have three sons and never made wipes. I have been learning about frugal living and I found out how to make them and will NEVER buy wipes again! Here's why:
1. Smell Better
2. Clean up better- use 1 instead of 6
3. CHEAPER
Here's the recipe:
I use the select a size towels and rip them all off the roll. Some people cut a regular roll in half and then pull the center out to make the roll type. I then fold them in threes. You don't have to as long as you have a Ziploc large enough to store them. I do it so they fit in the wipes containers. Then you mix about 3 tbsp baby wash (or free sample packet) and the recipes say 1 tbsp baby oil but I use about 3 tbsp. Then mix with warm water. Recipes call for about 3 cups. I use that and then add as needed. Then, put wipes into container and pour mixture over it. Turn it every so often to distribute the liquid and I even smoosh them a little to get the liquid out of the ones that are really saturated and into the ones that aren't.
Hope this is helpful. If you think I'm nuts (which I am) please just try it once and tell me it's not better.

We started making wipes with our first (have three and one on the way!) and love them! It took a few tries to get the recipe to work like we wanted but it is so much cheaper and the wipes do work so much better. Once the kids are all out of diapers, we intend to keep making them because they're so good for quick clean ups.
We just cut the paper towel roll in half and pull the cardboard out of the middle. We have a few circular wipe containers that they fit perfectly in so we don't have to tear them apart. Love, love, love handmade wipes!

I use Bounty Basic.
Answer:
So how much does it actually cost? I always have coupons for my wipes, so would it really be cheaper??
Answer:
are you kidding me? What new mom has time for that?!!
I use kirkland (from Costco) brand wipes. I think they're the best - I like the packageing, the size, texture, dampness, etc. And I like that they come in bulk :)
Answer:
Some Moms have no choice cause their childrens skin is too sensitive. It is better than using a washcloth with just water! My SIL has to make them cause any store bought brand breaks her kids out like mad!!! Poor things, the butts get so red and when She makes Her own the butts look better almost instantly!!!!

Answer:
I've tried making them before and was satisfied but I have one thing that is really important:
Do not use cheap papertowels.
I made them once with our store brand papertowels and it turned out to be a big clumpy mess. The towels start to disinegrate. (sp?)
