Could you be a minimalist?

Ask:
I've read a couple of things about this style and saw a quick blurb on HGTV (my first time to watch TV in months and this was what I saw, ).

Basically, everything is put away or hidden from view, there is minimal furniture and lots of open space. Instead of a coffee table, one guy had a couple of shelves on his wall and that was it. His home office was hidden behind the head board of his bed. Everything looked clean and sparse. No kids around, of course, but it looked so appealing to me. Lots of breathing room.
Answer:

I would LOVE to be a minimalist, but my dh and dd have too much stuff and won't let me! I like the open, uncluttered look. I can dream, can't I? <sigh>
Answer:

Nope, couldn't do it, I love my stuff. I just think I need a bigger house to put it all in.
Answer:

I'm with Starlite. I love the idea, but that's as far as it would ever get around here...an idea.
Answer:

I could definately do it...
Answer:

I like the way it looks, but it is too unrealistic for my lifestyle and I think almost anyone with kids....But I will take a bigger house to make it look like I have less....Would that count
Answer:

I would love it! I hate clutter and am constantly throwing out stuff so I can see less junk. Dh hates me throwing stuff out, I dont care what it is, if it is out and not inits place, it is gone!
Answer:

I couldn't do it and don't think I'd want to. It seems just when I throw something out I find a use for it.
Answer:

Meh, it doesn't sound like my kind of thing. I don't have a lot of clutter, but I do like looking at things. I like space as well, so I've found my balance. I like a house that looks like people live in it.

I don't know if I could go THAT far, but I do like to keep clutter out of view. I enjoy knick-knacks, picture frames, and stuff on the wall so I doubt I'd be a good minimalist.
