Could you wear a uniform?

Ask:
Uniforms are the great dress simplifier. I loved wearing one when I was in school- never a worry about what to wear.

But could you do it as an adult?

I ask this because my mom has what she calls her "winter uniform". When it gets cold she breaks out her sweat suits. She has several matching sets in different colors, and lots of special holiday ones. She wears them with turtles necks that are different colors and prints. She looks cute as a bug, and is comfortable and warm all winter.

At this season in my life, when it's so hectic with the kids and free time is precious, I am thinking I wouldn't mind having a system like this. I wouldn't want to wear sweat suits all day, but I think I could live in jeans/capris and white shirts year round (if i had to limit myself to a uniform type style). I do love clothes, but I don't have time to shop for myself right now, and knowing what I would be wearing every day with no brain power involved would be one more simplification step.

I've already switched to showering at night when the kids are asleep (so much easier and more peaceful) and gone to a very simple, easy hair style... maybe this could be my next step? Hmm.....
Answer:

Well, I wear scrubs practically all the time. I work in a nursing home and I love the scrubs!!! I rarely change when I get home. They are supper comfortable and wash up so nice.

My husband calls jeans and hoodies my "uniform". I have about 5-6 hoodies. They're great with a tee shirt underneath for all my "mom" functions. I dress up more when I have social outings planned or just want to feel better about myself.

Remember the Seinfeld episode where George decides to wear sweatsuits all the time? Jerry said it was like he was "giving up" completely. Sometimes I feel that way!

If I wear sweats dh says, "Hello, George" or "You've already given up on today completely?" - that might be why I don't wear sweats very often

my husband refers to my clothes as my "mom uniform" -- I pretty much wear the same type of things everyday...whatever is comfortable!
Answer:

Boy it does sound like a good idea. Lately it's hard to even get out of my pajamas. I like the sound of hoodies and blue jeans.

I wear jeans pretty much everyday! I have one style of polo type top I wear in 5 different colors, so i guess i do already wear some type of uniform, of course it's not all i wear but it is my favorite!
Answer:

All my school life I wore a uniform. In the Estate Agency there isnt a uniform as such just a specific dress code, In the day job its the same, suits (your choice) and certain colours seem to the theme.

So long as they arent nylon scratchy things I wouldnt have a problem

It would give me 5 mins extra in bed

Answer:

DH calls my jeans and sweaters my winter uniform...It's all I wear during the winter...maybe this year I/'ll throw in a little mix and get a few hoodies . If it was all only, say a black and white uniform every day, 7 days a week...no coulnd't do it, I'd get bored with it fast!
