Here's a couple links to start with. It sounds super easy. From reading, I believe the best way to do it is to felt (or "full") the sweater first, then cut/sew. The basic directions are that you throw the wool sweater into a hot water wash, then cold water rinse. It'll bind the fibers. If you want it even tighter, throw it into the dryer on high until dry. Then you can just cut it like normal fabric - it WON'T fray! because the threads are all bound together. Which is why it's like felt.. no fraying. Super easy to cut/sew.
