HELP!!!!!!! Permanant Marker vs white walls

Ask:
My ds has written on my walls with a permanant mark! I tried Mr Clean erasers, but they tok the paint off the wall and this house is a rental. I tried alcohol, but that started melting the paint too, bleach water won't help either.... any advice?
Answer:

Got a spare can of white paint?! It may take touching it up to cover it up. Also, if you go this route..add a bit of water to the paint so it will be thinner..and blend better with the old paint (unless the walls were recently painted!). My 2 1/2 year old did this a while back on one of our walls...and I was very thankful to find that the builder had left a gallon of paint in the garage from our walls!
Answer:

I just googled this, too, and two suggestions were TOOTHPASTE and non acetone fingernail polish remover. It can't hurt to try either!!
Answer:

thank you SO much! I will try both!
Answer:

Seems like there is a post on this board somewhere that says WD-40 removes permanent marker. It would probably be worth trying.
Answer:

Oh this is oh too familiar. My DS drew a line from the bottom of the stairs leading all the way to his bedroom, and then marked the door with a big glob, and wrote his name. HIS EXPLANATION?? So that his friends know where his room is when they come over. And this was about a month after we moved in, and we had newly painted house too. What works? There's this product called Goof Off, oh and let me tell you, it works too good.
Answer:

My son did this on the refrigerator and an eraser took it off. I tried everything you can imagine, from goo gone, and WD 40 to nail polish remover and rubbing alcohol.

Good luck!
Answer:

If nothing else has worked try using an aerosol hairspray. My dd was quite the artist when she was younger. I probably experimented with every cleaning product on the market.
