What do you have the most of in your stockpile? - Page 2

Ask:
Canned tomatoes! I use them alot, so I buy them at Costco 6 for 5.99, yesterday I was there and they had them on for 4.99 so I bought 2 more cases! !
Tomato soup was on 4/1.00 so I have 2 cases of those, and the Heinz can pasta was on 4/$3, and I had 3 coupons 1.00 off when you buy 4, so I got them for .50 each.
Our prices are a bit higher than most because we are on an island, so I stockpile religliously!

Answer:

It's toothpaste for me too. I can't help it if it's free. I know there is a 12 week cycle for sales so I try to buy only for that time period. Now that I have an upright freezer I am working on meats whnn they are on sale.
Answer:

Wow, it's a tie between, toothpaste, shampoo & conditioner, windex, laundry detergent and cereal, oatmeal and dry.I'll be good for a few months.
Answer:

Well I have been doing this for about 2 years now and here is the most of 3 things I have:

90 Jars Skippy PB (it was 0.01 a jar - tax)
102 jars Taco bell salsa -- free + I made $3 for every 5 I bought at Kroger 2 weeks ago
200+ small travel size wet wipes -all free and great for donating to school and church

DH is used to it now and I love having a good pile to send home with people or to school. We used to have a hard time affording groceries when we were first married and had our son. The medical bill for his surgeries were SO bad and now I enjoy not worring about it and helping local food pantries.

I just have to say OMG!!!!Doesn't that stuff expire?
Answer:

Yes it does expire most in late 2007 or early 2008. Plus we use these 3 things like crazy at our house and at least a 1/3 of it will go to food drives or family friends to use. I enjoy finding a deal and really enjoy sharing with people. It is addictive once you start sharing and it makes me feel good to help other people. My DH loves the salsa and seems to be going though a jar every other day so it will be long gone before it expires.

With any large stockpile the key is sorting by date. For the stuff we keep I write in black marker the month and year it expires on top to make it easier to watch expiration dates.
Answer:

Mine was infant formula. I found it on clearance at Target and had my checks. At one time I hade over 20 cans!!! Now it's cereal, canned veggies and jelly. Oh, I also try to keep about 1 months worth of meat in the freezer.
Answer:

Do bills count? I have a stockpile of them on my desk :lol

Honestly I don't know how you can all stockpile like this All I have access to is Target, Walmart, Hy-Vee, and Jewels. Oh yeah I do have a walgreens, can't find many coupons in my area, and None of the grocery stores in my area do double coupons anymore since Eagle closed I would love to stockpile on things like TP, shampoo, cream rinse, toothpaste, and laundry soap, dishwasher soaps ect... but maybe if I read this board more I can get into the stock pile challenge?? :wink
Answer:

Our area does not have double coupons close by we have to drive to Bloomington for the most part. But I would suggest signing up for a coupon train or 2 on this board. They are a great way to get different coupons and pass on the ones you do not use. As you may notice my "big" stock pile of items above were either free or a penny each. I can not afford to stock up on items unless they are very cheap and when I find them I go overboard. Hang in there -- there are a lot of sales coming up with T-Day 2 weeks away and that is a great time to pick up some items.
Answer:

ARe there NO other grocery stores other than the ones you mentioned??? I'm on a bunch of coupon trains, and I have people save coupons from thier papers cuz I don't get one. Then I sit down with the flyers I get in the mail and make out my list. This past week one store had GM cereal on sale for $2 a box, but you MUST buy 4. I bought 4, used my save $1 on 3, plus another .75 coupon I had, and they doubled that. I paid $5.50 for *4* boxes of cereal, and just threw it in my stockpile. YOu just can't go wrong dong that!!
