What room are you the proudest of?

Ask:
What decorating are you the proudest of?

I'm the proudest of the fact that we finished 1500 sq feet of our house by ourselves, with the exception of carpet. We get lots of compliments and I feel proud everytime someone mentions it.

I don't know if I have a favorite total room...maybe Abby and MaryGrace's room that they share. It is "sugar and spice and everything nice"...SO sweet WHEN CLEAN!! However, my favorite decorating is my fireplace. I have a HUGE corner fireplace that is a mantle all the way back to the corner...and 15 foot ceilings in this room!! It was a LOT of space to do something with..tall AND deep. Also, we HAVE to put our TV up there..only outlet. So, I worked on this for a full six months. Then, in one weekend, viola', I just GOT IT! I was so proud, and here almost a year later, I still love what I did up there..and get lots of compliments, too!!

I hate almost every room in this house. The only room that doesn't make me sick is the boys' room. It's coming along nicely. I'm putting every cool thing I find in there. There is a vintage Pac Man sheet on one of their beds, a tie-dyed lamp, a denim valance with cool pins on it, Halloween lights (lampshades with spiders on them) along the valance, a frameless picture of a surfer in a wave, a Bahamian looking straw hat hung on the wall, and I bought this poster that looks like something off of Miami Ink. It's an Asian wave with some other stuff in there. I need a frame for it, though. I really want a cool throw rug for the middle of the room.

I like our family room the best. WE have a woodburning fireplace and I recently painted the walls a rust red that makes the bricks POP. I love it because it's so cozy.

I think it'd be my youngest 2 boys room. Bottom half of the room is a muddy green color, the top is a khaki-ish color with fat rope as chair rail. There's a REAL 7' swordfish on one wall. In one corner there's a fish collector thing that's got some stuffed fish in it.

My oldest boys room is neat, too, though. It's 2 shades of blue with a border near the ceiling of glow-in-the-dark stars and some dangling g-i-t-d stars with pix of space ships. Eventually, I want to paint a huge rocketship on the wall....but I wanna know if we're moving again next summer before I do that.
Answer:

my dd's room. ITs the first room I did in the house. Her furniture is white with hot pink star drawer pulls. I covered one wall with a striped fabric, hot pink, blue, purlple, and green. I made matching picture frames wiht left over fabric and a valence. Then I covered the remaining walls with stars that match the colors in the fabric. I wanted to make it special so she wouldnt be as upset about moveing.

I have to say my bathroom. It's the only room we gutted and almost completed to my liking. It's purple with white wainescoting, tile floors- the works. I love it in there!

I almost hate to post right after stevegal...she must think I am following her around today....

But here goes. I think right now the living room/dining room because the tree is in the living room (wouldn't fit in the family room) and I have the table in the dining room decorated with a white christmas tablecloth, Red napkins w/ these really neat silver bell napkin ring holders (I got at target) and red roses for a centerpiece and candles....looks pretty. And I have my Snowbabies collection around the red roses as part of the centerpiece. My dh even comment how nice the Snowbabies looked there!!

In general I would have to say my kitchen....we have "space" above the cabinets that came out really nice. And it is the place where everyone gets together!!(we have a kitchen table and chairs where we eat every night)

Right now, nothing is decorated in this house!!! I was really proud of the kitchen in our old house. The best decorating we ever did. Everyone commented on it. It was bright red on the bottom and white on the top with a veggie boarder in between. The cupboards were red with white doors and red handles. It was so bright and cheery!

Right now I love our kitchen, it's blue and yellow and very country and homey feeling. In our old house my favorite was the nursery, it was a cape cod house so the room had a slanted ceiling, we had a huge tree painted in the corner on the walls and the ceiling, flowers and grass all along the bottom wall, built in dressers that I finished and painted white with pastel knobs and a swing with a stuffed pooh bear hagning from a 'tree branch' off the ceiling. It is the ONLY think I miss about that house.
